Pro: Like the
United Kingdom, daylight in May is long. Sunrise at 6 o'clock in the morning,
and set at 9 o'clock in the evening. Also a non-peak season
Con: In May, the
weather in Switzerland is likely to be light rain. Remember to pay attention to
weather forecast and prepare the raincoats. If it is raining, you can try to
adjust the timing of going up the alps. Because there is a lot of fog, and you
wont be able to see the scenic.

Our
accommodation in Switzerland is also Airbnb. The cost of Switzerland is very
high, so we do not have much demand for accommodation. However, all the places
we stayed in were still very comfortable.
To โfeelโ
Switzerland, we went to Wengen for 3 nights. It was a pedestrian village. It
was quite tiring to take the children and luggages. However, the beauty there
is worth all the effort.
Accommodation is
also required to book in advance, if you want to stay in a beautiful
accommodation, booking is very important.

The most confusing part of the trips is understanding the train
system in Switzerland. However, it is also the most impressive system of
transportation. Can you imagine their timing is so punctual that all the buses
and trains arriving and leaving on the exact second. And the interchange is so
convenience that you do not need to walk a far distance in between at all.
Thumbs up!
1st choice (Convenience): For people who are lazy and want to
have a hectic free trip, โSwiss Travel Passโ is your best choice. However,
please note that places like Pilatus, Jungfrau area, Titlis and Harder Kulm,
you still need to pay for the tickets at half fare.
2nd choice (Budget): As we travel 7 days (no travel pass for 7
days) and know that we will travel slower and lesser place for our trip due to
babies, we decided to go for โSwiss Half Fare Cardโ. This can be purchased in
advance @ 120CHF valid for 30days once activated and then you can travel in
Switzerland by paying 50% of almost all fare. (All fare meaning included Pilatus,
Jungfrau area, Titlis and Harder Kulm)
Tips: On top of the half fare travel pass, if you know you are
traveling a lot on particular day, you can also purchase โSaver Day Passโ 30
days before your travel date at 29CHF if you are lucky. โSaver Day Passโ act
like โSwiss Travel Passโ but you can purchase it per day basis in combination
of you โSwiss Half Fare Cardโ at lower price.
Tips: the lake cruises are also included in โSwiss Travel Passโ
& โSaver Day Passโ. If you choose the second choice, you can consider to
get a 1st Class โSaver Day Passโ for that day to fully enjoy the
cruise.
Tips: If you choose the second choice, sign up and download the
SBB app to your phone so you can record down all the tickets you purchased.
Tips๏ผYou can store your luggage in
almost every railway station. They have different size of luggage locker
available, so you no need to carry it around when you are traveling. Price
around 5 - 9CHF per locker
Also! Some stations even have service to send your luggage to
another station but it will require 2 days to arrive. So you can plan ahead if
required.
Tips: Traveling with baby in Switzerland railway is also very
convenience. Some of their long distance trains have family zones, family
coaches available. You can check it in their app as well as the layout of the
train at the train station. The family zones have stroller parking area, a
playground and lounge for family. Making our traveling so much easier.

Things in Switzerland are really expensive. 20-30CHF for every meal. And we spend most of our time moving and sightseeing. So we dun really focus on eating.
However, if you have a cruise on the lake, some cruise ships have a restaurant where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery while eating.
What company you bought your SIM card in UK??
